I unearthed this bulbous jug in 2022 using small batch glazes and local Kenyan clay. She was threwn her using a simple modern wheel in Nairobi, Kenya in a wonderful little studio called Tope on the outskirts of the city. A place of refuge from the bustle during a personal journey of learning to befriend and appreciate stillness.
I had a moment of panic when glazing as I thought I may have gone overboard and put one too many colours, one too many layers. Anyone else ever find it hard when to stop!?! Buttttt the results c’est magnificent!!
