Scots Gaelic for: ‘dance’.
‘dannsa’ was unearthed in 2021 using small batch glazes and local Kenyan clay. I threw her using a simple modern wheel in Nairobi, Kenya in a wonderful Arts Centre in the thick of the city and then glazed at the equally wonderful Tope Pottery on the outskirts.
One thing I have not done enough in the last few years is d.a.n.c.e. Yet, what a way to feel liberated. The twist in the neck of ‘dannsa’ is tribute to humans’ innate desire to twist n’ shake.
Approximate measurements: 0.61lb // H:9.5cm // W:7.5cm (widest point)
