aye

£70.00

Scots Gaelic for: ‘yes’.

I unearthed this piece in 2021 using small batch glazes, local Kenyan clay and a simple modern wheel in Nairobi, Kenya. The studio I worked from was called Tope on the outskirts of the city; my place of refuge from the bustle during a personal journey of learning to befriend and appreciate stillness.

This was made at a time in life where I was having to say ‘yes’ to myself often and outwardly say ‘no’ - protecting my boundaries whilst learning to not see it as coming from a place of lack. Nothing in life is black and white. It's always grey. Always nuanced. Just got to search for that middle ground.

Approximate measurements: 1.63lb // H:6cm // W:19cm
